Primary Function:
Under the supervision of the Club Director, the Project Learn tutors, plans, implements, supervises, and
evaluates activities provided in the Project Learn lesson plan.
Key Roles (Essential Job Responsibilities):
Program Planning
- Prepare youth for success by creating an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development outcomes which include:
- promote and stimulate program participation.
- monitor grades and skill level of members to show improvement
- provide guidance and role modeling to members.
- Develop, implement, and administer programs, services and activities for members.
- Monitor and evaluate programs, services and activities to ensure:
- safety of members
- quality in programs
- attractiveness of the Project Learn program
Administrative Functions
- Prepare weekly schedule of programs and monthly evaluation reports.
- Ensure a productive work environment by participating in weekly staff meetings.
Relationships
- Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/ instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.
Additional Responsibilities
- May participate in special programs and/or events.
Skills/Knowledge Required:
- BA in Education or related field
- Current FL Teacher Certification
- Experience working with children.
- Knowledge of youth development.
- Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
- Ability to deal with the general public.
- Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.
- Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
- Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications.
- Valid State Driver’s License
- Pass pre-employment background screening and drug test.
