Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic leader to oversee and deliver a comprehensive, safe, and inclusive sports and recreation program that serves all club members. This role presents an opportunity to create a positive and engaging environment where both boys and girls can thrive through physical activity, teamwork, and skill development. The ideal candidate will be committed to promoting healthy lifestyles and fostering a culture that supports personal growth, confidence, and positive youth development, ensuring every participant feels valued, supported, and inspired to succeed.

Responsibilities/Duties

Program Planning & Implementation

  • Develop, plan, and schedule a full calendar of athletic programs, seasonal leagues, sports clinics/practices, tournaments, and recreational activities.
  • Ensure programs serve a wide age range and are inclusive to all genders, offering equitable opportunities.

Youth Development & Member Engagement

  • Encourage participation and engagement; serve as a positive role model and mentor to members.
  • Promote not just athletic skills, but also social, emotional, and healthy lifestyle development (sportsmanship, teamwork, character, well-being).

Staffing & Volunteer Management

  • Recruit, hire (or coordinate selection), train, supervise, and evaluate coaches, volunteers, and any part-time staff involved in athletics.
  • Provide orientation, coaching guidelines, and maintain staff accountability.

Facility, Equipment & Safety Management

  • Ensure that athletic facilities (gyms, fields, recreational spaces) are safe, clean, well-maintained, and organized.
  • Manage inventory of sports equipment; ensure proper storage, maintenance, and timely replacement or acquisition.
  • Enforce safety protocols, supervise youth during activities, and ensure all programs meet health, safety, and club standards

Budgeting, Resources, & Administrative Duties

  • Develop and manage the athletics program budget; requisition supplies and equipment; track expenditures.
  • Maintain records: attendance, participation, registrations, demographic data, budget reports, volunteer/staff logs, equipment inventory, facility usage.
  • Promote and market athletic programs to members, families, and the community to
  • maintain or grow participation.

Community & Stakeholder Relations

  • Collaborate with parents, schools, community partners, local leagues, and other youth-serving organizations to coordinate events, recruit participants, and ensure alignment with community needs.
  • Foster inclusive, welcoming environment for all youth; ensure programs reflect cultural, gender, and age diversity.

Program Evaluation & Outcomes

  • Implement, monitor, and evaluate athletic programs to assess participation, outcomes
  • (physical health, social development, engagement), and adjust programming to meetmember needs.
  • Report on program performance to Club leadership, board, or funders as required.

Other Duties

  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall functioning of the club
  • (e.g. support in non-athletic programs, assist with special events, outreach, or generalclub operations)

Qualifications & Skills

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, Knowledge of and ability to teach the rules of play for common games and activities.
  • Experience working with and instructing children and youth in recreational and/or educational games and activities.
  • Experience working with youth development, ideally in a club, after-school program, or similar organization.
  • Previous experience supervising staff and volunteers, organizing sports/recreationalprograms, and managing logistics.
  • Strong leadership, communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and mentoringskills.
  • Organizational and project/program management skills: planning, scheduling, logistics,budgeting.
  • Ability to promote a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for youth of diversebackgrounds and ages.
  • Basic computer skills (e.g. MS Office) for record-keeping, scheduling, reporting.
  • Certifications may be required or recommended: CPR, First Aid. Valid driver’s license may be necessary (for transporting youth or staff).
  • Flexibility — willing to work occasional evenings, weekends, and adapt to changing program needs (especially for practices/games/events).

Shift

- Evenings and Weekends (When in Season)

- 1:00pm-7:00pm. Weekend hours during sports leagues. Summer hours will be available as well.

Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
