Overview

 

The Highlands at Harbor Springs is seeking reliable and safety-focused Snow Plow Operators to join our Mountain Operations team. As a Snow Plow Operator, you will play a vital role in maintaining safe and accessible resort roads and parking areas throughout the winter season. In this position, you’ll be responsible for clearing snow, monitoring road conditions, and assisting with firewood distribution across the property. Your work ensures our guests and staff can move around the resort safely and comfortably. Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions (including but not limited to):

  • Clear and maintain resort roads and parking lots to ensure safe and accessible conditions.

  • Remove and haul snowbanks as needed throughout the property.

  • Perform regular equipment checks, including monitoring fluids and cleaning plow equipment and vehicles.

  • Split and deliver firewood to designated wood racks across the resort.

  • Apply sand to roads to improve traction and reduce icy conditions.

  • Deliver sidewalk salt to salt barrels at key locations on the property.

  • Operate heavy equipment with precision, including tractors, plow trucks, blade trucks, front-end loaders, and sanding trucks.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license

  • High school diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in snow removal or operating heavy equipment (preferred, but not required)

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Ability to climb steps or ladders to access larger equipment

  • Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including snow, wind, and cold temperatures

  • Requires extended periods of sitting, standing, and operating machinery
