Qualifications
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Mountain Bike Instructors to join our team as we build and grow our mountain bike school. *This position would be an on-call position and instructing hours are not guaranteed. There may also be trail maintenance and building tasks associated with this position. The ideal candidate is passionate about mountain biking, safety-conscious, hardworking, thrives in a dynamic, outdoor environment and is open to hard physical labor associated with building and maintaining bike trails.
Responsibilities
Instruction & Coaching:
- Deliver high-quality mountain bike instruction to individuals and groups, from beginners to intermediate riders.
- Foster a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
- Provide on-trail guidance, demonstrations, and personalized feedback.
- Coaching all age ranges of students.
- Bike instructors would have a set part-time schedule and may be “called-off” the night before if there are not lessons booked for the following shift
Trail Building & Maintenance:
- May assist with the construction, upkeep, and repair of mountain bike trails.
- Safely use hand tools and basic trail-building equipment.
- Ensure trails are sustainable, well-maintained, and rider-friendly.
Equipment & Safety:
- Able to perform minor repairs and routine maintenance on bikes.
- Keep your personal bike clean and in excellent working condition.
- Promote and uphold all safety standards and protocols.
Qualifications
- Prior experience teaching or coaching mountain biking is preferred.
- Trail building and maintenance experience strongly preferred.
- Positive, professional attitude with a strong work ethic and team spirit.
- Ability to switch between instruction and physical trail work as needed.
- Eagerness to continue learning and developing as a coach and rider.
- PMBIA (Professional Mountain Bike Instructor Association) certification preferred.
Requirements:
- Available for mandatory training on June 28 and 29
- Full-suspension mountain bike in reliable, well-maintained condition.
- Full-face helmet and appropriate protective gear (pads).
- Familiarity with basic bike repair and maintenance tasks.
- Flexible availability, including Fridays and weekends and varying day-to-day duties.
- Physical stamina and readiness to work outdoors in a variety of conditions.
- Physically fit and able to work hard and not oppose to getting dirty while doing trail work
- Able to be “on-call” for Friday and weekend shifts
- Submit a background check.
