Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented professional to join our team in a hands-on fabrication role. This position involves welding, cutting, assembling, and repairing metal components according to specifications and quality standards. Responsibilities- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, and work orders to determine project requirements.
- Measure, cut, fit, and assemble metal parts and structures using a variety of fabrication tools and equipment.
- Perform welding operations using appropriate processes and materials based on project needs.
- Inspect completed work for accuracy, alignment, strength, and overall quality.
- Operate grinders, saws, drills, clamps, and other fabrication equipment safely and effectively.
- Complete repairs, modifications, and custom fabrication tasks as assigned.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all safety procedures and policies.
- Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other departments to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Perform routine equipment checks and report maintenance needs or safety concerns promptly.
- Experience in welding, metal fabrication, or a related manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, measurements, and fabrication drawings.
- Familiarity with common welding techniques and fabrication tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to use measuring tools accurately and work to tight tolerances.
- Understanding of workplace safety practices and proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Ability to lift, carry, bend, and stand for extended periods as needed in a shop environment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Formal welding training, certification, or apprenticeship experience.
- Experience with MIG, TIG, stick, or other welding processes.
- Background in custom fabrication, structural work, or equipment repair.
- Forklift, overhead crane, or other material-handling experience.
