Welder

POSITION SUMMARY:   Fabricate and assemble Medical Instruments through the use of TIG, Micro TIG, and Laser welders according to customer or employer specifications. Each job must be run with safety, accuracy, and timeliness.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (essential functions of the position):

• Ability to identify part geometry and proper orientation to establish required welds at location surfaces per print and identify any work holding needs.
• Follow prescribed quality procedures including identifying all dimensions established at the weld operation ensuring part conformity both dimensionally, functionally, and aesthetically.
• Monitor weld gas supply and filler rod inventory working with purchasing to assure adequate levels.
• Follow prescribed safety procedures.
• Follow workplace organization effort including fixture locations.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Previous TIG welding experience required.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, height gauge, and optical comparator with digital readout.

NONESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS (not necessary but preferred):

• Understanding and application of GD&T.
• Understanding and application of Laser Welding and Micro-Tig Welding

• Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs and up to 50 lbs on a daily basis.
• Ability to stand for a minimum of 8 hours and up to 12 hours per day.
• Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment.
