Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Commercial Lines Account Assistant to support our Commercial Lines Account Managers in policy administration and customer service. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced office environment and is eager to grow their knowledge of the insurance industry. The Account Assistant will play a key role in maintaining excellent customer service, processing policy documentation, and supporting account management functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Policy Administration & Customer Service
- Assist Account Managers with policy administration tasks, including policy checking, updates, and internal renewal reviews.
- Prepare, receive and send customer notifications and correspondence regarding policy changes, renewals, and important updates.
- Process and manage certificates of insurance for clients promptly.
- Handle small bonds and provide administrative support for simple account management tasks.
Claims & Renewal Support
- Assist with some claim submissions and follow-ups, ensuring timely communication with clients and carriers.
- Conduct internal renewal reviews and processing, coordinating with Account Managers to ensure smooth renewals.
Marketing & General Account Assistance
- Provide insurance marketing support, including gathering and preparing required documentation as needed.
- Support Account Managers with general account assistance and administrative duties.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
Skills & Competencies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, both for customer interactions and internal team collaboration.
- Ability to manage multiple administrative tasks efficiently and without follow-up from management.
- Comfortable working in various customer management platforms and insurance systems.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced office environment.
- A team player who is eager to learn and grow in the insurance industry.
Experience & Education
- Prior experience in an administrative, customer service, or insurance-related role is preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of commercial insurance is a plus, but training will be provided.
- Will be required to obtain property and casualty insurance licenses. If candidate is currently licensed this is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and CRM/insurance software is a plus.
