The Role
This is a part-time, in-office administrative position with real room to grow. You'll be the friendly first point of contact for our clients and the behind-the-scenes organizer who keeps everything in its place. For the right person, this role can grow into hands-on bookkeeping work over time.
What You'll Do
- Manage and organize the firm's email inbox — flagging, sorting, and routing messages
- Answer phones and greet clients with warmth and professionalism
- Assist with digital filing, including scanning documents and following our file naming conventions
- Keep client records organized in our document management system
- Maintain a clean, welcoming office (light tidying, restocking supplies)
- Handle office pickup orders and occasional local errands
- Assist with small bookkeeping tasks (data entry, receipt matching) — with training provided and room to take on more
What We're Looking For
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy — you'll be handling confidential client information (signed confidentiality agreement required as well as background check!)
- Strong attention to detail, especially with file names, dates, and numbers
- Comfortable with technology — Microsoft, email, scanning, and basic spreadsheets; experience with QuickBooks Online or SharePoint is a plus but not required
- Friendly phone presence and professional communication
- Self-starter who can see what needs doing and do it without being told
- Valid driver's license for occasional pickups/errands
Room to Grow
We'd love to find someone who wants to learn. As you get comfortable, this role can expand into client bookkeeping work, bank reconciliations, transaction categorization, and more — with pay and hours growing alongside your skills.
Details
- Schedule: Part-time, approximately 20-24 hours per week, Monday-Thursday/9:00AM – 3:00PM
- Pay: $12-14/hour, depending on experience
- Location: 210 North First Street, Lufkin, TX (in-office)
- Reports to: Owner
