What are the responsibilities and job description for the System Engineer (Hybrid WFH / MSP) position at Bowman Williams?
We are a fast growing Managed Service Provider supporting clients across critical industries with a culture built around accountability, responsiveness, and client care. We are hiring a System Engineer with MSP experience who enjoys deep troubleshooting and also wants consistent project exposure while working closely with a high performing team.
This is a hybrid role that blends escalation ownership with project delivery. You will handle higher level support issues while also driving client projects like onboarding, migrations, and infrastructure improvements.
What You Will Do
- Serve as the Level 2.5 escalation point across servers, networking, cloud, and security
- Own and deliver projects such as Microsoft 365 migrations, onboarding for new clients, server and firewall deployments, and workstation rollouts
- Troubleshoot complex issues across Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Intune, and VoIP
- Perform proactive maintenance including patching, monitoring, and system optimization
- Implement and support security controls such as EDR, MFA, and encryption
- Conduct network and security reviews and help remediate risk
- Manage work in ConnectWise with clear documentation, time entry, and client ready updates
What You Bring
- MSP experience supporting multiple client environments
- Strong Windows Server and Active Directory skills
- Microsoft 365 support experience plus Intune fundamentals
- Solid networking skills including firewalls, switching, wireless, DNS, and DHCP
- Experience with SonicWall, Fortinet, or similar firewalls
- Experience with virtualization using VMware and or Hyper V and backup solutions
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation habits
- Must have a car for occasional local onsite visits
Pay and Benefits
- $100k to $110k
