2nd SHIFT LEAD
Position Summary
Bowden Manufacturing is seeking a hands-on leader to join our team as the 2nd Shift CNC Lead. In this role, you’ll oversee daily shift operations while working directly alongside your team on the production floor. You’ll play a critical part in ensuring that production runs efficiently, quality standards are upheld, and team members have the support and resources they need to succeed.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys leading by example—balancing leadership, mentorship, and hands-on machining in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate daily operations for the 2nd shift, ensuring production goals, safety, and quality standards are consistently met.
- Operate CNC equipment as needed, performing setups, changeovers, and troubleshooting to keep production on schedule.
- Support and guide team members with machine operation, setup assistance, and technical problem-solving.
- Conduct and verify in-process inspections to ensure all parts meet customer and internal quality requirements.
- Accurately document shift activity, production performance, and any downtime or improvement opportunities.
- Foster a safe, organized, and collaborative work environment, promoting accountability and adherence to company standards.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, and throughput.
- Act as the primary point of contact between 2nd shift, 1st shift, and management—ensuring clear communication and alignment across teams.
Qualifications
- 5 years of prior leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing or CNC machining environment.
- Strong understanding of CNC machining operations, setups, tooling, and process troubleshooting.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and mentor team members in a hands-on setting.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Willingness to work overtime or adjust schedule as needed to support production needs.
- Positive attitude, team mindset, and passion for continuous improvement.
