QA Supervisor

The QA Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring quality assurance within a cannery that specializes in producing a variety of pickled vegetables and maraschino cherries. This position involves overseeing quality documentation, compliance monitoring, and preparation for both regulatory and third-party audits. The QA Supervisor is responsible for maintaining adherence to HACCP, GMP, and QACCP standards across all operations. During the slower production season, the focus shifts to reviewing standard operating procedures (SOPs), preparing for audits, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. This role demands a proactive individual who can navigate niche processes and work independently after receiving initial training. Salary Range: $65,000 - $70,000 / Year DOE

QA Supervisor Responsibilities

• Assist with quality-related documentation, including specifications and control records, to ensure ongoing compliance with internal and regulatory standards
• Monitor and enforce document compliance across plant operations; update and revise as needed to reflect process or regulatory changes
• Prepare for and assist with internal and external audits, including FDA, GFSI, WSDA, USDA, and third-party inspections
• Provide on-site Quality Assurance support for cannery operations, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards for products
• Prepare and assist with root cause analysis investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions
• Develop and maintain HACCP and GMP compliance programs, including training, documentation, and enforcement
• Write and update SOPs
• Assist with risk assessments and mitigation planning
• Support the documentation and implementation of QACCP and safety protocols across all plant departments
• During the slow season, review SOPs and prepare for audits
  
  

QA Supervisor Requirements

• Must have 2-3 years of QA experience
• Must have food and beverage QA experience
• Must have experience with internal and external audits, including FDA, GFSI, WSDA, USDA, and third-party inspections
• Must have experience with root cause analysis investigations
• Experience with writing and updating SOPs
• Experience with document control and document compliance
• Must have a degree in biology, chemistry, environmental science, or a related field
• Certifications in HACCP, SQF, PCQI, and food safety auditing preferred
• Prior supervisory experience preferred
