Opto-Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities
- Assemble and modify specialty equipment for production processes
- Transfer products from R&D into physical production
- Ensure the alignment and stability of optical components
- Manage the impact of environmental factors on optical performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals
- 4-year engineering degree, ideally in mechanical engineering
- Direct experience in opto-mechanical engineering, with 4 to 10 years preferred
- Familiarity with optical components such as lenses, mirrors, and lasers
- Experience with mechanical components, including mounts and housings
- Understanding of design considerations affecting optical performance
- Knowledge of manufacturing techniques and metrology methods
- 5-10 years of experience preferred
- Understanding of optical component manufacturing techniques preferred
- Familiarity with Zemax or other optical design programs preferred
- 3D CAD modeling experience in Solid Works required
- Demonstrated ability to apply sound Mechanical Engineering principles preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills preferred
