MRP Scheduler Responsibilities

MRP Scheduler Responsibilities
- Own the factory production schedule, determining what gets made, when, and in what order
- Work with production control to ensure the schedule is executed on the shop floor
- Partner with the Manufacturing Manager to enhance machine efficiency
- Coordinate with engineering to implement new automated work cells and production improvements
- Focus on increasing output and improving production rates
- Ensure machines and teams operate in the most efficient sequence to maximize production
- Collaborate closely with production control, manufacturing managers, sales, engineering, and operations
- Manage scheduling for approximately 200 different parts across 75 customers
- Oversee large production contracts, manufacturing around 80 million parts annually
- Hands-on experience in a manufacturing plant dealing with metal fabrication and machining
- Experience creating and managing a master production schedule
- At least 1 year of background with MRP software
- Experience in planning production sequences and schedules
- Ability to adjust schedules based on machine capacity, labor, and materials
- Strong analytical skills to assess production metrics, cycle times, and efficiency
- Experience with manufacturing raw materials to finished goods
- Ability to coordinate complex scheduling involving hundreds of parts
- Familiarity with engineering drawings and basic mechanical principles
- Understanding of QA, engineering, inside sales, purchasing, and manufacturing interactions
- Experience with MIE Protract MRP is preferred
- Experience with tubing production is preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred
