Field Service Instrumentation Technician Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled maintenance on company analyzers, including cleaning, calibration, component replacement, and full system checks
- Troubleshoot both company-manufactured and third-party water-quality instruments at customer locations
- Support new equipment installations and ensure seamless integration with customer PLC/SCADA systems
- Provide on-site guidance and training so customers understand and operate their equipment effectively
- Manage weekly travel schedules and communicate all arrival times directly with customers
- Prepare clear and accurate service reports following each trip
- Maintain travel logs and documentation for service activity and expenses
- Identify potential service contract needs and support upselling opportunities
- Represent the company with professionalism, technical accuracy, and strong customer rapport
- Travel throughout Pennsylvania and surrounding regions, including regular overnight stays
- Minimum 1 year of field-based technical experience
- 2 years of customer-facing interaction
- Instrumentation calibration experience is required regardless of industry
- 2 - 5 years of calibration experience
- Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, or analytical instrumentation issues
- Comfortable with frequent travel and independent work in the field
- Strong communication skills and a reliable customer-service mindset
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass background and drug testing, including marijuana
- Degree not required if experience demonstrates technical proficiency
