Duvel Moortgat USA is looking for a knowledgeable and motivated Accounting Manager to join our finance team. The Accounting Manager will support Duvel USA – the organization that markets and sells our beers and beverages, as well as our brewery production facilities and organizations: Boulevard Brewing Company in Kansas City, MO and Brewery Ommegang in Cooperstown, NY.
The Accounting Manager will contribute within a finance team that oversees AP and AR processes, as well as postings, accruals, deferrals and reconciliations that support inventory (in all production stages and across multiple business segments), revenue, cash, CIP and fixed assets, sales and marketing expenses, brewery and logistics operating expenses, intercompany transactions, payroll, forecasting, budgeting, reporting and more. This role also supports the Financial Controller with the internal and external audits and serves as a leader and mentor within the finance team.
In this role, you will own or oversee a portion of accounts payable and receivable processes, inventory reconciliations, and various postings, accruals and deferrals. This role will also own and reconcile a selection of general ledger accounts.
The perfect candidate has a passion for accounting and process efficiency, has strong attention to detail, and collaborates well with colleagues within Finance, as well as customers, vendors, and colleagues outside of Finance.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Actively participates in the monthly and annual close processes to ensure the team delivers accurate, complete and timely financial reporting
- Oversees AP and AR processes, ensuring timely payments to vendors and receipts of cash from customers
- Supervises and/or mentors other members of the Finance team
- Prepares various entries for the month-end close
- Identifies opportunities for process improvement and works across departments to improve processes
- Accurately prepares balance sheet reconciliations and provides proper support
- Supports FP&A with forecasting and budgeting processes
- Prepares documentation for audits and assists with requests from audit staff

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 5 or more years of hands-on corporate accounting or finance experience in a manufacturing environment (within CPG a plus)
- Advanced Excel skills (vlookups, nested if-statements, pivot tables, etc.)
- Experience with a large-scale ERP system (MS Dynamics Nav or Business Central a plus)
- Experience with intercompany accounting
