Position Summary
The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) assists in managing the daily operations of the Nursing Department while promoting quality resident care, regulatory compliance, staff development, and clinical excellence. This leadership position partners with the Director of Nursing to supervise nursing personnel, improve clinical outcomes, and support a positive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the management and supervision of nursing services
- Support and mentor licensed nurses and nursing assistants
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance evaluations
- Assist with scheduling and staffing to ensure quality resident care
- Monitor clinical documentation and resident assessments
- Ensure compliance with CMS, state, and federal regulations
- Participate in Resident Care Conferences and interdisciplinary meetings
- Assist with resident admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Address resident and family concerns professionally and promptly
- Assist with infection prevention and quality improvement initiatives
- Coordinate nursing education, orientation, and ongoing in-service training
- Support emergency response and clinical problem-solving
- Promote Residents' Rights and person-centered care
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, consultants, and administration
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing or Administrator
Qualifications
Required
- Current Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Graduate of an accredited RN nursing program
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility
- CPR Certification
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to successfully complete all required background screenings
