Boulder County Human Services Department is seeking to hire a Bilingual Issuance Clerk. Boulder County's Human services is seeking to hiring a Bilingual Issuance Clerk (Accounting Clerk III). This position is the lead/specialist level classification in the Accounting Clerk series. The Accounting Clerk III performs complex and specialized clerical accounting duties requiring a thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and public agency accounting procedures. Requires a high degree of independent judgment.
This is a full-time, benefited position that will work Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm. This position works primarily out of 515 Coffman St. Longmont, Colorado but will be trained and expected to cover in all offices. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is non-exempt (eligible for overtime).
Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.
Hiring Salary Range: $55,116.00 - $67,254.00 Annually
Tentative Hiring Timeline:

New employees receive an 80-hour bank of vacation at the time of hire, in addition to 8 hours of both vacation and medical leave accruals each month (Must not have been employed at Boulder County during the 12 months prior to re-hire date to qualify). - Accurately issue Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) cards, gift cards, and transportation passes to eligible recipients following established procedures
- Assist the public in person, by email, and on the phone, providing customer service in a consistently friendly, helpful, and professional manner
- Process requests with a sense of integrity and urgency, verify identifications, use and distribute appropriate forms, and obtain signatures as required
- Research EBT case problems and recommend solutions to correct problems
- Accurately cashier transactions including checks, money orders, and rental payments
- Complete daily reconciliations of transactions
- Prepare and review financial reports for deposits, and other accounting transactions
- Enter accounting data into the county's computerized accounting system
- Review, verify, and correct computer system accounting information
- Compile and tabulate data and balance accounting records
- Maintain accurate records for all issuance requests, including distribution logs, destruction logs, and daily inventory reconciliations according to state standards
- Manage EBT, Regional Transportation District (RTD) and gift card inventory; troubleshoot client usage issues
- Maintain excellent filing and record-keeping systems
- Explain EBT card usage, fraud awareness, and account management to recipients
- Adhere to confidentiality and security protocols in handling sensitive client information
- Provide basic information about benefit programs to clients as needed
- Participate in training sessions to stay current on policies and procedures
- May train, supervise, counsel, and evaluate the work of other employees
- Performs related work, as required
- May be reassigned during emergency situations

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Boulder County is looking for well qualified candidates to fill our positions. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged. In this position, we are looking for a minimum of
- high school diploma or equivalent
AND
- 4 years of combined education and experience of in-person customer service and clerical accounting or bookkeeping experience.
Additional related education may count towards required experience.

BILINGUAL SKILLS:
