Boulder County Housing Department is seeking to hire a Housing Specialist - Voucher Team. The Housing Specialist plays a key role in supporting Boulder County Housing Authority’s mission by administering Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) programs and ensuring clients have access to safe, affordable housing. This role manages a caseload of up to 250–275 households and involves working closely with clients, landlords, and community partners to provide accurate program information, maintain compliance, and deliver high-quality service.
We value candidates with a range of experiences—if you have strong organizational, analytical, customer service, or compliance-related skills, you may be a great fit even without direct housing experience.
This is a full-time, benefited position that will work Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm, with the potential for a flexible work schedule. Occasional after-hours work for resident meetings, outreach events, emergencies, or to meet project deadlines required. This position will work out of 516 Coffman St., Longmont, Colorado. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is non-exempt (eligible for overtime).
Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.
Hiring Salary Range: $57,852.00 - $70,650.00 Annually

Examples of Duties
- Provide program information and guidance to applicants, participants, landlords, other agencies, and the public
- Administer intake and eligibility processes, including reviewing applications, conducting interviews, collecting documentation, and auditing files
- Manage and maintain housing waiting lists
- Coordinate or perform Housing Quality Standards (HQS) inspections according to HUD regulations
- Conduct interim and annual recertifications and maintain accurate client records
- Respond promptly to client and landlord questions, resolve housing-related issues, and coordinate with case management staff
- Collaborate with internal teams and community partners to ensure coordinated, wrap-around services
- Calculate and authorize rental assistance payments and handle repayment agreements as needed
- Manage special purpose vouchers as assigned (e.g., portability, VASH, FUP, Mainstream, RAD/PBV)
- Participate in hearings and prepare supporting documentation
- Performs related work, as required
- May be reassigned during emergency situations
