Description
The material handler is responsible for proactively supplying raw materials to the machines. This position will maintain the organization of raw material inventory and put away raw material deliveries. The material handler will perform inventory transactions. And daily reconciliation of inventory levels and transactions as directed by Production Planner.
1st Shift: 6am to 4:30pm (Monday to Thursday)
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Proactively supply raw materials to production ensuring production does not run out.
- Accurately process material transacted in the Inventory System following pre-established guidelines and work instructions.
- Maintain an accurate inventory.
- Perform material changeovers.
- Correct and debug all inventory and WIP transactions as required.
- Assist with WIP and Finished Goods material movement as needed.
- Participate in continuous improvement programs.
- Participate in physical Inventory and cycle count efforts.
- Assist with the Production Supply Inventory program, including delivering as able.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards.
- Support and maintain safe work practices.
Secondary Functions & Responsibilities:
- Participation in other duties and projects as required.
- Assist with baling scrap and dispositioning rolls and material.
- Assist shipping/receiving department as needed.
- Assist machine operators as needed.

Requirements
Education & Experience
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Microsoft Excel experience preferred.
- Ability to drive a fork/clamp truck and use other material handling equipment.
- Warehouse/logistics/shipping/receiving experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
