Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of non-alcoholic beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met
- Operate POS systems accurately to process sales swiftly and efficiently
- Handle retail sales transactions with cash, credit/debit cards, and mobile payments while maintaining accurate cash handling procedures
- Greet customers warmly, take their orders, and provide personalized beverage recommendations to enhance their experience
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including food handling stations, equipment, and customer seating areas in compliance with food safety standards
- Manage food preparation tasks related to beverage service and light food offerings when applicable
- Ensure timely beverage service by managing time effectively during busy periods and multitasking efficiently
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or café environments is highly desirable, especially barista experience or similar roles involving beverage preparation
- Strong cash handling skills combined with proficiency in retail sales transactions using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and build rapport with diverse guests
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures to ensure health standards are maintained
- Basic math skills for processing cash transactions accurately and giving correct change
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience with beverage service, drink preparation, and café operations is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidates
