Responsibilities

- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, slicers, and other culinary tools efficiently and safely
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen areas to uphold hygiene standards
- Support meal preparation by slicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Ensure food handling procedures comply with food safety management protocols to prevent contamination
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate orders and ensure timely service
- Assist with menu planning and catering setup as needed for special events or daily service
- Follow safety standards during food production to minimize hazards and ensure a safe working environment
Skills
- Proven experience in food service, restaurant environments, or the food industry with a focus on kitchen operations
- Strong knowledge of dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Skilled in food preparation, cooking techniques, and operating various kitchen equipment safely
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with kitchen staff and front-of-house team
- Familiarity with food safety standards, including proper food handling, sanitation, and recipe adherence
- Ability to perform meal preparation efficiently while maintaining high quality standards
- Experience with catering or large-scale meal production is advantageous
