Role Summary
Boswell is seeking a detail-oriented Benefits and Compliance Specialist to support our benefit operations and assist with regulatory compliance initiatives. Working within our growing multi-state organization, this role focuses on the day-to-day administration of total rewards and ensures rigorous adherence to regulatory standards. You will act as a key support resource, helping ensure the accuracy of benefit data, assisting with policy execution, and maintaining high standards of service for our employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Compliance & Leave Support: Assist in the administration of federal and state-mandated leaves (including FMLA, ADA, and New Jersey Family Leave), ensuring all protocols are documented and meet legal thresholds.
- Regulatory Reporting: Provide support in the preparation and auditing of essential compliance filings, such as ACA reporting (1094-C/1095-C), Form 5500s, and EEO-1 reporting.
- Disability & Claims Coordination: Help manage the lifecycle of Short-Term and Long-Term Disability (STD/LTD) claims, serving as a liaison between employees and carriers to resolve issues while maintaining absolute HIPAA compliance.
- Policy & Data Integrity: Assist in monitoring federal and state employment laws to help update internal policies. Conduct routine audits of benefits data to maintain data integrity within the HRIS.
- Financial Reconciliation: Perform monthly audits and reconciliations of carrier invoices (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, etc.) against payroll data to identify discrepancies and ensure accurate payments.
- 401(k) Administration: Assist with the daily operations of the retirement plan, including processing employee contributions and loan monitoring, in accordance with IRS and DOL regulations.
- Open Enrollment Support: Assist with the execution of the annual Open Enrollment cycle, including system testing, drafting communications, and processing final enrollments.
- Vendor & Employee Support: Act as a point of contact for routine benefits inquiries, Qualifying Life Events (QLEs), and enrollment issues, providing high-touch support that reinforces Boswell's brand and culture.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 5-7 years of human resources experience, with a focus on benefits administration and compliance.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of ERISA, COBRA, ACA, FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, and New Jersey state-specific employment laws.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) for data extraction, invoice auditing, and tracking metrics.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to explain benefits information and plan documents clearly to staff.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field.

Pay Transparency: In accordance with local law, the range below is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Actual compensation will vary based on specific relevant experience, education, certifications, and other compensable factors.
- Salary Range: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 / Year
