Ticket Sales Representative
Boston Sightseeing is looking for friendly, reliable, and sales-focused Ticket Sales Representatives to join our team in Boston.
This is a customer-facing position where you will sell tickets for our sightseeing tours, answer guest questions, explain tour options, and help create a positive first impression for visitors exploring the city.
Pay Options:
Candidates may choose between one of the following pay structures:
- $17.00 per hour with no commission
- $15.00 per hour plus commission opportunity
Commission details will be reviewed during the in-person interview. Candidates will be able to choose the pay structure that works best for them.
Responsibilities:
- Sell tickets for Boston Sightseeing tours at our ticket kiosk and designated sales locations
- Greet guests in a friendly, professional, and welcoming manner
- Explain tour routes, schedules, pricing, pickup locations, and ticket options
- Actively engage with guests and ask for the sale
- Process cash and credit card transactions accurately
- Use point-of-sale systems, phones, tablets, and basic computer programs
- Answer guest questions and provide excellent customer service
- Keep the kiosk and sales area clean, organized, and presentable
- Assist with promotional efforts, flyers, QR codes, and guest outreach as needed
- Follow company policies, cash-handling procedures, and customer service standards
- Work professionally with drivers, tour guides, dispatchers, and management
Qualifications:
- Prior customer service, hospitality, retail, tourism, or sales experience preferred
- Sales experience is a plus, but paid training will be provided
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
- Comfortable approaching and speaking with guests
- Ability to handle cash and card transactions accurately
- Comfortable using basic technology, including phones, tablets, and POS systems
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
- Able to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Candidates selected for hire may be required to complete a background check, consistent with applicable law.
