We are seeking energetic and experienced Strings (Violin and Cello) Faculty members to join our team at BSMA! The ideal candidate is compassionate, creative, and has a passion for teaching students ages 4 and up, and Adults in private and small group classes. This is an in-school (not in-home or online-only) position.

A college degree in music is preferred., with a focus on Violin.  Performers who have 10 years of teaching experience, are experienced performers, great with children, and have an outgoing personality are encouraged to apply. Must be able to pass a background check.

The successful candidate will be a part-time, W2 employee, not an independent contractor.  

Responsibilities: 
  • Provide a fun and engaging experience for students.
  • Become trained, and certified in delivering our lessons program
  • Keep internal lessons progress notes 
  • Prepare students for community performances and school performances
  • May prepare students for competitions as BSMA rep, or for special auditions.
  • Will teach small groups and bands weekly (recurring group class pay rate is higher than range listed)
Qualifications
  • Prefer Bachelor's degree in Music Education or  related field
  • Solid Violin performance experience and teaching ability - across multiple genres
  • Reliable attendance history
  • Ability to create a warm, engaging, and encouraging music learning experience in 1-on-1 and group settings
  • Must pass background test, showing suitability to teach children
  • Can work independently, and be directed occassionally
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Organized
  • Ideally 2 years' experience teaching music to ages 4 to Adult.

Salary : $28 - $38
