Activity Leader – Music, Vocational & Recreational Programs

Job Goal:
Join our dedicated team and make a meaningful impact in the lives of students with autism. The Activity Leader enhances student vocational, recreational, and music-based experiences by developing and maintaining both on-campus and community-based activities that align with our monthly curriculum. This position also plays a key role in coordinating engaging activities during our Vacation Program.
Our school practices Daily Life Therapy®, focusing on structured routines, emotional stability, physical education, and music as key components in helping every student reach their fullest potential.
Hours:

Regular school year: Monday–Friday, 1:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. (220-day schedule)

Vacation Program (approx. 8 weeks/year): Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:15 p.m.
What You’ll Do:

Lead and support vocational, recreational, and music activities across the Day and Residential Programs.

Create engaging, hands-on learning experiences for students in both classroom and community job settings.

Implement the Music Education Program, a fundamental area of study in Daily Life Therapy®.

Collaborate with teaching, residential, and maintenance staff to ensure smooth daily operations.

Encourage independence, teamwork, and social skill development in students.

Participate actively in school routines, exercise activities, and team meetings.

Plan and deliver fun, structured activities during school vacation weeks.

Order and supplement all music-related supplies and equipment through written requests to the Master Teacher.

Study and deepen knowledge of Daily Life Therapy philosophy and techniques, as well as current developments in Music Education.
What We’re Looking For:

Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (required)

Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum (preferred)

Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills

Willingness to participate in active, movement-based programs

Valid driver’s license

Flexibility for occasional weekend or holiday shifts
