Medical Receptionist

Seeking a Full Time Medical Receptionist for BCHP's Pediatric office in West Harrison, NY Pay rate will be approx. $19/hr to $20/hr, negotiable based on experience. Medical office background and/or EHR experience is a plus.

Job Description:

• Office responsibilities
• Verify all patient and family demographics
• Verify all insurance information
• Check the online pre-visit registration through the Phreesia program, adding and/or correcting any information in the patient database.
• Follow-up on any positive responses in the Coronavirus screening through Phreesia
• Phreesia should also be checked at the end of the day to prepare for the next day's visits. Incomplete registration and positive screenings should be dealt with at that time.
• Checking the online payment of balances and copayments, and assisting parents in making these payments at the time of the visit if not done prior to the visit
• Assisting new patients in completing the registration forms
• Updating all information in the patient's electronic record, including removing an Alerts that no longer apply
• Assist patients in obtaining access to the Patient Portal for each child in the family
• Manage referrals to specialists and insurance inquiries.
• Make appointments for future visits for patients as they exit.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records is essential, and familiarity with the NextGen EMR is a plus.
