Position Overview
Bosshardt is looking for a strategic Financial Controller to lead our accounting department. You will be responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the financial data across our multiple Bosshardt Companies. Your primary focus is to supervise a diverse team of accountants and bookkeepers, ensuring that commission distributions, trust accounts, and property management financials are managed with 100% precision and transparency.
1. Leadership & Team Management
- Department Oversight: Directly manage and mentor a team of [Insert Number] accountants and bookkeepers.
- Workflow Optimization: Design and implement streamlined processes for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end closing to ensure the team meets all deadlines.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct regular internal audits of staff work to maintain the "Bosshardt Standard" of financial accuracy.
2. Real Estate Financial Operations
- Commission Management: Oversee the calculation and distribution of complex real estate agent commissions, ensuring all caps, splits, and deductions are accurately applied.
- Property Management Oversight: Ensure the accounting team provides accurate monthly statements to property owners and maintains strict security deposit compliance.
3. Reporting & Strategy
- Financial Reporting: Prepare consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the executive team.
- Budgeting & Analysis: Work with department heads to develop annual budgets and provide monthly variance reports to the CEO.
- Tax & Audit Lead: Act as the primary liaison for external CPAs for annual tax filings and lead the response for any state-mandated regulatory audits.
Requirements
- Experience: Progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a Controller or Accounting Manager role.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred).
- Software: Mastery of QuickBooks and Excel. Experience with real estate-specific platforms is highly desirable.
- Local Knowledge: Firm understanding of Florida real estate regulations and trust account laws.
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
