Job Description
We are seeking a friendly and customer-focused Counter Sales Associate to join our team in our Columbia branch. As a Counter Sales Associate, you will be the face of our company, providing exceptional service to our valued customers and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their inquiries and purchases
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process transactions accurately and efficiently
- Maintain a clean and organized sales counter area
- Demonstrate in-depth product knowledge to help customers make informed decisions
- Handle credit cards, and other payment methods with precision
- Resolve customer concerns and complaints in a professional and empathetic manner
- Restock merchandise and assist with inventory management
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive shopping environment
- Adhere to company policies and procedures to ensure smooth operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous retail or customer service experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively
- Strong math skills for accurate transaction processing
- Proficiency in operating Point of Sale (POS) systems
- In-depth product knowledge or the ability to quickly learn about our product line
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly and supportive attitude
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask efficiently
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- Basic computer skills and attention to detail
- Team player with a collaborative mindset
- Assist in warehouse when needed for shipping & receiving when volume is high.
· Regular Attendance & Punctuality are vital to succeed.
Be willing to become forklift certified.
Preferred Skills:
- 5 years in customer service.
- HVAC knowledge a plus.
- Forklift experience a plus (Will Train)
