Key Responsibilities
Warehouse & Inventory Operations
- Supervise daily warehouse activities including receiving, storage, staging, loading, and shipping of steel pipe, coils, fittings, and related materials
- Ensure accurate inventory control through cycle counts, audits, and ERP/WMS transactions
- Coordinate material flow to support production schedules and minimize downtime
- Maintain proper storage, labeling, and handling of heavy steel products and MRO items.
- Invoice Management.
- Min-Max Compliance. Identifying obsolete material.
- Interdepartmental coordination.
- Ordering & Replenishment stockouts items or parts.
- Follow up critical spare parts for all plants.
- Enforce all safety policies, OSHA regulations, and company EHS standards
- Lead daily safety talks, job hazard analyses, and incident investigations
- Ensure proper use of forklifts, cranes, rigging equipment, and PPE
- Maintain compliance with export, customs, and trade requirements when applicable
- Supervise, train, and develop hourly warehouse employees
- Manage staffing levels, schedules, overtime, and timekeeping
- Conduct performance coaching, disciplinary actions, and performance evaluations
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
- Coordinate outbound shipments with carriers and internal logistics teams
- Ensure accurate shipping documentation, packing lists, and bills of lading
- Support domestic and international shipments, including export packaging and documentation
- Minimize freight costs through efficient loading and shipment planning
- Utilize ERP/WMS systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) to manage inventory and transactions
- Identify and implement process improvements related to safety, accuracy, space utilization, and productivity
- Support lean initiatives, 5S, and standard work practices within the warehouse
- Work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Procurement, and Sales teams
- Support audits, customer visits, and corporate reporting requirements
- Align local warehouse practices with global standards and sister-company best practices
Required
- High school diploma or GED
- 5 years of warehouse or logistics experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- 2 years of supervisory or lead experience
- Strong knowledge of inventory control, shipping, and material handling
- Experience working with heavy materials (steel, pipe, coils, or similar)
- Proficiency with ERP/WMS systems and Microsoft Office
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field
- Experience in steel, metals, or pipe manufacturing
- Forklift and crane operation certification (or ability to obtain)
- Experience supporting international or globally owned manufacturing organizations
