What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equipment Operator position at Boro Sand and Stone?
Perform duties as directed by the Manager while operating any or all of the following equipment: Backhoes, excavators, loaders, skid steer, dump truck. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Must meet minimum requirements for DOT certification and have a current Mass Hoisting 1c 2a minimum license.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Pre-trip equipment prior to the operation of equipment. Check and maintain fluids in the vehicle. Grease vehicle and report any defects to the maintenance Manager.
- Load material on equipment and secure as directed.
- Regularly communicate with dispatch
- Safely operate any or all of the following equipment: Backhoes, excavators, loaders, skid steer, dump truck
- Willing to help clean up crushing plant at the end of the day
- Participate in yearly MSHA trainings
- Report any unsafe conditions to your Manager
- Operate tools as directed by Manager
- Place, remove, or maintain stone stock piles and berms.
- Keep a clean and clear work area free of debris and safe for other vehicles to pass
- At all times work in a safe manner
- Machines, Tools, Equipment and Work Aids: Backhoes, excavators, Loaders, skid steers, fork lifts, lull, hand tools.
Work Schedules and Hours: While work schedules and hours may vary somewhat depending on peak seasons. In general, applicable work schedules include Monday - Friday 7a-3:30pm with a 30 minute lunch with overtime as job dictates. Willingness to work Saturdays and snow removal is a must.
Qualifications and Education Requirements: All successful candidates will have passed both a physical examination and drug/alcohol screen. Equipment Operator/Labor must have a minimum of a valid driver’s license, MA hoisting license, be able to pass DOT physical, MSHA certified along with a background check. Must be able to lift at least 90 lbs.
