Position summary:
This position also efficiently and accurately performs standard warehouse duties including picking, shipping and receiving, loading and unloading trucks. In addition, they maintain a warehouse that is kept safe, neat and clean.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receives trucks and unloads product.
- Unpacks, inspects and stocks goods and materials.
- Identifies damage, loss or surplus of goods and materials stored in the warehouse.
- Fulfills customer orders and prepare product for shipment.
- Meets warehouse operational standards, identifying and recommending improvements to uphold or exceed current customer service levels.
- Drives and operates forklift.
- Works with shipping computer applications, including UPS Worldship and similar programs.
- Maintains warehouse in a neat, organized and orderly manner.
- Completes light building and grounds maintenance, as required.
- Maintains a safe working environment by following safety protocols.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Computer skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general internet functionality required.
- Proficiency utilizing Enterprise software preferred (Prophet 21 by Epicor). Training can be provided.
- Other skills required:
- HVAC and related experience and/or training is a plus.
- Knowledge of warehouse processes, quality control, logistics, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective storage, fabrication and distribution of goods.
- Basic knowledge of arithmetic and its applications. Ability to input, retrieve and analyze data.
- Understanding of basic principles and processes for providing customer services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Excellent customer service skills with a strong desire to go above and beyond to exceed customer expectations.
- The ability to accurately assess customer needs, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Communicating effectively verbally and in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
- The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented by others, both verbally and in writing.
- The ability to express ideas and convey information clearly, simply and positively, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Industry knowledge and technical aptitude a plus.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Frequently required to walk, sit, bend, climb, balance, stoop, kneel or crawl, utilize hand and finger dexterity, talk or hear.
- Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals.
- Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
- While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision; distance vision; depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Specialized equipment, machines, or vehicles used:
- Forklift operation may be required; appropriate training and certification would be provided.
