Job Summary
Saw Operator - This position is responsible for cutting wood component pieces for floor and roof trusses per specification. The position may also be responsible for stacking of cut material, banding and marking materials, and pushing product on carts to appropriate area.
Duties:
- Read and interpret work orders and production schedules (typed, handwritten, computer screen).
- Set up and operate automated saw and other equipment.
- Lift and stack product off lumber carts, band and mark product, and push/pull product on carts to designated areas.
- Complete continuous quality review throughout processes to meet quality and accuracy requirements including dimensions, lumber grades, and quantity.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
Requirements:
- Prior sawyer experience is preferred.
- Must be able to read a tape measure and work off a cut list.
- Good attendance is a must.
