Position Summary
Borghese is seeking a highly organized and proactive Procurement/Planner to oversee the sourcing of components, packaging, and finished goods while managing relationships with contract manufacturers and suppliers. This role is critical to ensuring product availability, maintaining quality standards, controlling costs, and assisting in supporting new product launches.
The ideal candidate combines strong procurement and planning expertise with the ability to collaborate across operations, supply chain, product development, and finance. In a rapidly expanding beauty company environment, this individual will be expected to be both strategic and hands-on.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Sourcing
• Source and negotiate pricing for components and finished goods.
• Manage supplier selection, onboarding, and performance evaluation.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and service standards.
• Develop and maintain vendor scorecards and supplier performance metrics.
• Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply chain risks.
Manufacturer & Supplier Management
• Serve as the primary point of contact for contract manufacturers, fillers, and key suppliers.
• Manage production schedules with manufacturing partners to ensure on-time delivery.
• Coordinate component availability and production readiness for product launches and replenishment orders.
• Resolve supply, quality, and delivery issues in partnership with vendors and internal teams.
• Lead regular business reviews with strategic manufacturing partners.
Inventory & Supply Planning Support
• Collaborate with demand planning and operations teams to align procurement activities in conjunction with sales and forecasting.
• Ensure timely procurement of components and materials to support production requirements.
• Monitor inventory levels and recommend actions to prevent shortages or excess inventory.
• Support inventory optimization initiatives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Partner with Product Development, Marketing, Quality, and Finance teams on new product launches and reformulations.
• Ensure suppliers and manufacturers meet quality, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities related to procurement and production costs.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field preferred.
• 5 years of procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or manufacturing management experience.
• Experience in beauty, personal care, cosmetics, CPG, or related industries strongly preferred.
• Proven experience managing contract manufacturers and supplier relationships.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management capabilities.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ERP (Business Center ERP preferred)
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
