Manager of Logistics
Reports to: Company President
Job Overview:
The Manager of Logistics is responsible for all aspects of shipping finished cases to our customers. This position manages relationships with freight carriers. This includes negotiating pricing, verifying reliability, and assuring the carrier projects Borgen’s high standards. The position also schedules deliveries with customers, relates any changes to the schedule as needed, and troubleshoots issues in unloading of cases from trucks.
Responsibilities & Duties:
· Seeking reliable carriers to haul finished cases to customer specified destination
· Negotiating prices and contracts with carriers
· Scheduling loads for best efficiency / customer satisfaction
· Communicating delivery changes or other information to the customer
· Troubleshooting loading / unloading issues
· Creating truck layouts showing loads as they would appear on the trucks
· Notify shop of any upcoming crating requirements
Basic Qualifications:
· 2 years of management experience
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to track and manage projects
· Strong oral, written, and formal presentation skills including the ability to communicate regarding systems and solutions
· Must demonstrate suitable diplomacy and persuasive skills to all levels of the organization
· Self-motivated and assumes personal responsibility for results and performance
· Autonomously meets goals and deadlines
· Demonstrates a high level of integrity
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree – Business or Supply Chain Management preferred
· 5 years in logistics environment – OEM environment preferred
Travel Requirements:
· No travel required
Physical Environment:
· Combination of time in the office, production areas, and loading docks
