POSITION: Substitute Special Services Tutor
LOCATION: Various Buildings - Multiple Positions
EFFECTIVE DATE: 2025 - 2026 School Year
SALARY: $24.73 per hour AA Degree
$25.71 per hour BA Degree
SCHEDULE: On-call as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED: (Qualifications which are essential to the position)
- AA degree; BA preferred
- Experience administering educational assessments
- Demonstrated exemplary customer service and responsiveness
- Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with staff, students, and patrons
- Demonstrated punctuality and an excellent work attendance record
- Must work within designated bounds of authority and confidentiality
- Ability to establish and maintain professional, cooperative, working relationships
- Must follow supervisory directions and employ personal initiative when necessary
- Ability to follow safe work practices and procedures
- Ability to take data according to program
- Previous experience working with students with disabilities in the educational setting
- Ability to implement educational program per teacher design
- Experience implementing academic and behavioral interventions
- Ability to assist with toileting needs, diapering, lifting, tube feeding, catheterization, and other forms?of assistance
- Willingness to do playground duties and/or office tasks
QUALIFICATIONS:
DESIRED: (Qualifications which are not required, but would be useful to the position)
- College or on-the-job training experience as a paraeducator
- Record keeping and typing skills and willingness to do office tasks
- Willingness to study materials provided by supervisory personnel and/or take college classes to improve basic instructional skills
- Previous experience working with special education and/or at-risk population
- First aid card preferred
- Bilingual/Biliterate
DUTIES:
- Working with exceptional needs students
- Instruct adult learners (parents)
- Prepare and lead educational lesson plans for adult learners (parents) that include ESL, literacy workshops, and computer literacy classes (Based on program need)
- Oversee classroom structure/maintenance.
- Maintain accurate attendance records.
- Maintains professional confidentiality.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
