Qualifications

MD or DO from an accredited medical school
-
Completion of a residency in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or another primary care specialty
-
Board eligible or board certified in a primary care specialty
-
Valid West Virginia medical license (or eligibility to obtain)

DEA registration
-
Current BLS, ALS, and PALS certifications (training provided if needed)

Excellent clinical and diagnostic skills

Strong interpersonal and communication abilities

Interest in rural medicine and community-based care

Experience working with or supervising Advanced Practice Providers is a plus
Key Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive evaluations, including histories, physicals, and diagnostic assessments

Develop individualized care plans and manage both acute illnesses and chronic conditions

Provide preventative care and health education to patients and families

Coordinate care with specialists, nurses, medical assistants, and other healthcare team members

Document encounters thoroughly and accurately in the electronic health record

Participate in peer reviews, interdisciplinary team meetings, and clinical improvement initiatives

Maintain clinical competencies through CME and ongoing learning

Qualifications:Qualifications:
- Board certified in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or General Surgery.
- Member in good standing of the hospital medical staff.
- Currently licensed to practice medicine in the state of West Virginia (WV).
- Currently certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS).
- Establishes and maintains effective interpersonal and interdepartmental relationships.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1) Oversee the trauma Performance Improvement / Patient Safety (PI/PS) activities of the trauma program
2) Supervises, along with the TPM, bi-monthly multidisciplinary PI/PS Committee meetings
3) Coordinate the peer review process including review of all trauma deaths and complications that occur within the hospital and initiate action as necessary
4) Organize, direct and integrate the trauma program with all other departments and services within the hospital
5) Participate in site review by regulatory agencies
6) Participate in regional and statewide activities affecting the trauma program
7) Consult with EMS Medical Director and EMS personnel on delivery of pre-hospital Care
8) Assist the TPM in evaluating the effectiveness of corrective actions resulting from PI/PS processes.
