Essential Functions
As an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician, you’ll work alongside licensed pharmacists to support medication preparation, distribution, and inventory management across the hospital.
- Preparing, labeling, and dispensing medications accurately
- Filling unit-dose, floor stock, and patient-specific orders
- Restocking automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs)
- Delivering medications to nursing units efficiently
- Preparing IV admixtures using aseptic technique
- Compounding non-sterile medications
- Monitoring inventory, expiration dates, and recalls
- Maintaining clean and compliant compounding areas
- Supporting audits, quality initiatives, and special projects
- Collaborating with pharmacists, nurses, and healthcare teams
Education and Experience
We’re seeking candidates who are reliable, detail-focused, and passionate about patient safety.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification
- Prior inpatient or hospital pharmacy experience
- Experience with sterile compounding
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Active Pharmacy Technician License (per state requirements)
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Fast-paced hospital pharmacy setting
- Frequent standing, walking, and hands-on work
- Occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs)
- Use of fine motor skills for medication preparation
- Exposure to medications and chemicals (safety protocols followed)
- May include evenings, weekends, or holidays
