Essential Functions

As a Medical Assistant, you’ll support both clinical and administrative operations to ensure exceptional patient care in our outpatient setting.

 Clinical Responsibilities

• Assist providers, staff, and patients with professionalism and care
• Take vital signs and obtain accurate patient histories
• Prepare patients for exams, procedures, and treatments
• Assist physicians during examinations and minor procedures
• Perform EKGs and collect/process lab specimens
• Conduct blood draws and waived lab testing
• Administer medications and immunizations as directed
• Recognize and respond to medical emergencies (including First Aid)
• Monitor, screen, and follow up on patient test results
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records

 Administrative Responsibilities

• Register patients and manage medical records
• Schedule procedures and follow up on patient visits
• Handle insurance forms, billing, and patient charts
• Order lab tests and maintain inventory/supplies
• Communicate with insurance companies
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality

 Qualifications

• High School Diploma (required)
• Completion of a certified Medical Assistant program
• BLS Certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
• EMR experience (preferred)

Physical Requirements

This role requires an active presence in a clinical environment. You must be able to:

• Stand, sit, and walk for extended periods
• Lift up to 50 lbs using proper techniques
• Bend, reach, twist, push, and pull regularly
• Perform repetitive motions and fine motor tasks
