JOB DESCRIPTION:
Title: Activity Coordinator/Event Manager
Qualification: Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Reports to: Activities Director
JOB SUMMARY:
The primary function of the Activity Coordinator/Event Manager is to represent the Boone Community School District at various events in a supervisory role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Events will include sporting activities, fine arts activities, and duties as assigned. These events will vary from middle school to high school.
2. Scheduling for events will be done prior to the beginning of each season (fall, winter, spring, summer).
3. We need all activity coordinators at larger events. Those include all home football and track meets.
4. Each year there are a few of the away events that we may need help with supervision. Those include rival games where we will have a larger crowd, tournament games, and state tournament games.
5. Any extra events that we host (ie. tournament games, show choir, speech contests) will need supervision.
6. Scheduling will be assigned by the activities director.
7. Activity coordinators are to arrive 45-60 minutes before start time and make sure the event area is safe and ready.
8. Activity coordinators are responsible for making sure that the money and programs are ready for ticket sellers. They will also secure gate money in a safe place at the conclusion of an event.
9. Activity coordinators are responsible for being hospitable to game officials and visiting teams. This includes taking care of the locker room facilities if necessary.
10. Activity coordinators will take care of the needs of officials (drinks, food, changing facilities, etc.) before, during, and after the conclusion of the contest.
11. Activity coordinators are responsible for crowd disruptions if they occur.
12. For indoor events, activity coordinators are responsible for periodically patrolling the hallways during contests.
13. Activity coordinators will help with exiting crowds after contests. There may also be some clean up help needed at some events.
14. Activity coordinators will not coach/direct when they are scheduled to supervise unless there are more than one supervisor assigned to the event.
15. If problems occur at an event, let the Activities Director know. If a fan has to be removed, try to get a name.
