What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced Concrete Finisher/Laborer position at Boom's Incorporated?
Boom’s, Inc. is looking to hire an experienced Concrete Finisher / Construction Laborer to join our crew.
We are a general construction company based near Little Genesee, NY, and we perform a wide range of work throughout New York. Concrete is a large part of what we do, but it is not the only thing we do. Our work can include concrete, demolition, excavation, site work, remodeling, repairs, and other general construction tasks. Every job is different, and we need someone who is willing and able to help wherever needed.
This position is best suited for someone experienced, mature, dependable, and able to work well with a crew. Concrete finishing experience is required, but the right person also needs to be willing to perform general labor and other construction tasks when the job calls for it.
Job Responsibilities:
- Form, place, and finish concrete
- Assist with sidewalks, slabs, curbs, pads, aprons, footings, trench repairs, and other concrete work
- Perform concrete demolition, prep work, grading, backfill, cleanup, and site restoration
- Assist with general construction tasks outside of concrete as needed
- Help with demolition, remodeling, repairs, hauling, cleanup, and miscellaneous job site work
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and small equipment when qualified
- Follow direction from supervisors and work safely on active job sites
- Show up on time, ready to work, and maintain a professional attitude
Requirements:
- Concrete finishing experience is required
- Minimum 5 years of construction experience required
- Must be dependable, physically capable, and willing to work full days in varying job site conditions
- Must be willing to perform both skilled work and general labor
- Must work well with others and be able to take direction
- Must have a valid driver’s license or reliable transportation to the job site
- Rides may be available from our shop depending on the job location
- Must have OSHA 10 certification or be willing to obtain it before starting field work
- Carpentry experience is a plus
- Experience with prevailing wage/public work projects is a plus
- Equipment operation experience is a plus
Travel / Schedule:
Most of our work is within approximately two hours of Little Genesee, NY. We do travel within New York and may occasionally travel farther depending on the project, but we do not typically travel for extended periods of time. Crews are home on weekends when travel is required.
Pay:
Private job pay is based on experience, ability, and reliability. Prevailing wage rates apply when working on applicable public work projects. We offer opportunities for raises as employees show consistency, dedication, skill, and value to the crew.

Pay: $23.00 - $65.00 per hour
