Clinical Director

Books & Rattles, Inc. is seeking an experienced Clinical Director to oversee clinical and related services within our preschool program. The Clinical Director will provide leadership to our multidisciplinary clinical team while ensuring students receive high-quality services in accordance with their IEP mandates and applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee Speech, OT, PT, Psychology/Counseling, and other related services.
• Ensure students receive mandated services in accordance with their IEPs and program requirements.
• Supervise, coach, and support clinical staff while monitoring caseloads, schedules, and service coverage.
• Review evaluations, progress reports, annual reports, service logs, and clinical documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor IEP timelines, service delivery, missed services, and required make-up sessions.
• Coordinate IEP meetings and collaborate with educational directors, clinicians, teachers, families, and district representatives.
• Maintain accurate clinical records, caseload information, service tracking, and compliance documentation.
• Conduct routine audits to identify service or documentation concerns and ensure timely correction.
• Support the development and implementation of clinical policies, procedures, and best practices.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a clinical, therapeutic, special education, or related field.
• Appropriate New York State license/certification.
• Experience in a preschool, special education, school-based, or pediatric setting preferred.
• Previous supervisory or clinical leadership experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IEPs, related services, documentation, and special education compliance.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

We provide numerous educational programs at our four sites located in the neighborhoods of Middle Village, Elmhurst, and Queens Village. Our curriculum is play based with innovative state of the art classrooms. We believe that families are an integral part of a successful childcare program.
