Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Warehouse Operations Manager, located in Florence, AL. The Warehouse Operations Manager will oversee daily operations within the warehouse, which include managing inventory control, supervising daily workflows, maintaining safety and efficiency, and ensuring timely distribution and delivery of products. The role will also involve coordinating with various teams to optimize processes and meet performance targets while maintaining compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Roles and Responsibilities
· Ensure that operations are aligned and performed to achieve all performance indicators including productivity, quality, and safety.
· Manage the execution departmental tasks and processes and ensure they align with the overall building strategy.
· Create daily work plans and goals based on facility need and backlog priority.
· Monitor work processes to determine how current processes could be improved from a productivity, quality, or safety perspective.
· Promote safety culture within the department.
· Supervise, coach, train, and develop associates in the department.
· Facilitate effective communication to associates in the department through daily huddles.
· Provide and analyze daily operational data for reporting and decision-making purposes.
· Organize workflow to meet priorities, specifications, and deadlines based on facility needs.
· Develop an in depth understanding of the company’s WMS to effectively manage systemic inventory movement.
· Maintain productive working relationships with all cross-functional areas.
· Responsible for determining total headcount need in each area, based on expected future work demand.
· Responsible for associate hiring for areas of responsibility and ensure successful onboarding and training of all new hires.
· Apply Lean or Six Sigma tools and techniques to measure, analyze, improve, and control processes.
· Strong communication skills with customers to improve processes and help fulfill their needs.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree preferred
· 5 years related warehouse or distribution experience
· 3 years of supervisory experience and able to display core leadership skills
- Experience in an environment that implements process excellence initiatives, improving the overall quality, safety, and efficiency of operational processes.
Skills
· Must be able to effectively communicate to associates and other members of the management team
· Must be able to effectively coach associates
· Must be able to develop workflow strategies based on communicated needs of the building and relevant work groups
