Bonnie Brae has a great career opportunity for an Assistant Residential Director. Bonnie Brae specializes in residential and community-based services for youth with mental health needs that require intensive interventions. The Assistant Residential Director will oversee and administer assigned cottage programs and adjunct programs in a 24/7 environment. A strong theoretical foundation in adolescent development and trauma informed care, along with flexibility in responding to changing Departmental and youth needs, are keys to success. This position is responsible for continuous quality improvement through conducting program analysis, staff analysis, and milestone management. The Assistant Residential Director will work through the Cottage Supervisors to achieve these responsibilities. Continuous review will insure compliance with all licensing and regulatory bodies: DCF, DHS, Joint Commission and Project Adventure Inc. The Assistant Residential Director acts as a staff resource person in times of crisis and for general staff needs. This is an intermediate intervention level prior to requiring input from the Department Head.
Candidate will possess the following:
Education / Experience:
- Bachelor?s Degree in a behavioral health/relevant field required and five years? experience working with youth in an out of home setting, with one year being in a supervisory capacity required OR Master?s Degree in a behavioral health/relevant field required and three years? experience working with youth in an out of home setting, with one year being in a supervisory capacity required
- Understanding of strength-based approach for trauma informed care
- Possesses knowledge of theoretical model for crisis management
- Valid Driver?s license ? not currently suspended or suspended over the last three years due to accidents or moving violations
