JOB TITLE: Assistant Director of Residential Services
JOB TYPE: Full-time
LOCATION: Agency Main Office and Community-Based Residential Programs.
SALARY: $58,000.00 - $60,000.00 Annually
JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Director of Adult Services is responsible for the day-to-day operational leadership of the Adult Services Program at The Arc of Somerset County. While being responsible for operational execution, performance monitoring, and direct supervision of Program Managers, this role requires strong operational judgment, fiscal discipline, regulatory knowledge, and visible leadership within programs.
Duties:
- Oversee daily operations of assigned residential programs. Ensure consistent implementation of agency policies and procedures by identifying operational. Ensure continuity between residential and day/vocational services.
- Ensure programs maintain year-round readiness for NJ DDD licensing inspections, DHS oversight, Medicaid documentation standards, and Incident reporting requirements (UIRMS, Therap, etc ).
- Review reportable incidents for completeness, timeliness, and corrective action, and participate in internal investigations as required.
- Ensure Program Managers monitor critical T-Logs and compliance documentation.
- Monitor, review, and approve payroll utilization, overtime trends, and staffing ratios. Review and approve purchase orders and check requests. Manage program budgets.
- Support development and implementation of cost-containment strategies.
- Participate in hiring, supervise, coach, and develop management staff while promoting accountability, professionalism, and culture aligned with agency values.
- Support performance management processes, including evaluations and corrective action.
- Ensure services are individualized and person-centered. Participate as IDT member as assigned. Support admissions, assessments, and transition planning.
- Participate in administrative on-call rotation. Respond to program emergencies and staffing crises.
- Assist in evaluating new program opportunities or expansions, planning for new residential openings, or program modifications.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Social Services, Human Services, Psychology, or related field required. Four (4) years of relevant supervisory experience may substitute for a degree.
EXPERIENCE/TRAINING: Minimum of two (2) years of experience with developmentally Disabled population required. Supervisory experience is also required.
