Since 1986, our family-owned shop in the Washington Park and Bonnie Brae neighborhoods has churned out over 120 fresh, in-store flavors, from classics like Butter Pecan to bold favorites like Triple Death Chocolate and Salted Oreo.
We’re looking for a Production Manager to lead our kitchen operations with creativity, precision, and a positive spirit. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a small kitchen, loves dessert, and enjoys mentoring a small team. You’ll take ownership of our production space, oversee daily operations, and help shape the future of our flavor lineup.

What You’ll Do
Production & Operations (80%)
- Lead daily ice cream production with your team
- Manage weekly schedules for ice cream, inclusions, cakes, and pies
- Track inventory, order supplies, and maintain kitchen systems
- Fulfill wholesale orders and communicate with shop managers
- Maintain quality standards and troubleshoot equipment issues
- Collaborate on costing protocols and production efficiency
R&D & Flavor Development (10%)
- Improve existing flavors and streamline processes
- Develop new seasonal and scalable menu items
- Contribute to monthly and seasonal flavor calendars
Leadership & Team Management (10%)
- Lead with positivity and clear communication
- Hire, train, and mentor kitchen staff
- Conduct “Ice Cream 101” shifts and ongoing training
- Join weekly check-ins with owners and store manager
What You Bring
- Passion for ice cream, pastry, and small business culture
- Reliable transportation and punctuality
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in cool environments
- Comfort with repetitive tasks and physical production work
- Basic Spanish is a plus
- ServSafe certification preferred
Job Details
- Full-time $60–70K/year DOE
- Monday–Friday, up to 40 hrs/week (flexible after training)
