Step into a pivotal leadership role and shape the future of the Bonneville Power Administration's transmission grid. As a key advisor to the Vice President of Transmission Field Services, you will move beyond daily management to drive the long-term strategic direction and operational health of the entire field services organization. This is a premier opportunity for a current BPA leader to expand their influence and lead transformative change across a critical part of our agency's mission.
As a Field Strategy and Operational Excellence Manager, you will:
- Serve as a principal advisor and special assistant to the Vice President of Transmission Field Services (TF), representing the VP in formulating and implementing policies, strategies, and practices that impact the entire transmission system.
- Develop and direct the long-range strategic vision for Transmission Field Services, setting organizational goals and policies to ensure the reliability, safety, and cost-effectiveness of our high-voltage transmission system.
- Exercise full managerial authority over the Field Strategy and Operational Excellence organization, directing the allocation of all resources-including staff, funding, and contracts-to achieve strategic objectives.
- Lead enterprise-wide business transformation initiatives, driving the adoption of innovative technologies, automated processes, and improved work methods to reduce operating costs and enhance program effectiveness.
- Make authoritative decisions on organizational structure, long-range staffing, and key positions to best align the workforce with the strategic needs of Transmission Field Services.
- Oversee the entire portfolio of strategic programs for TF, from strategy formulation and business case evaluation to project execution and the successful integration of new business operations.
- Act as a key decision-maker for complex and high-stakes issues, considering a broad spectrum of factors including public relations, labor-management relations, and the financial and operational effects on other BPA organizations.
- Direct the development and application of data analysis and business intelligence, providing expert insights that shape and support the overarching goals of Transmission Services and BPA.
