The Demand Planning Analyst is accountable for Bonide’s demand planning platform and leads the execution of our demand forecasting process. This role is responsible for system integrity, forecast accuracy, and continuous improvement of demand planning workflows to strengthen forecast inputs and outputs across Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain.
Key Responsibilities
Demand Planning Platform/System Management
- Serve as the business owner and primary operator of the demand planning platform.
- Maintain data integrity across inputs: shipments, POS, inventory, promotions, seasonality curves and new product assumptions.
- Configure forecasting models, parameters and hierarchies within the system.
- Manage user roles, workflow and forecast cycles.
- Partner with IT and vendor support for system enhancements and issue resolution.
- Drive ongoing optimization of system utilization and forecasting algorithms.
- Ensure Bonide has a single source of truth for demand planning.
- Develop SKU-level forecasts by customer, channel and time horizon.
- Own and govern forecast overrides, including documentation of rationale, bias tracking, and post-mortem variance analysis.
- Integrate POS data (mass and e-commerce), historical shipments, promotional plans and weather impacts.
- Monitor forecast accuracy (MAPE, bias) and continuously refine assumptions.
- Identify and explain demand variability, channel shifts and trend inflections.
- Support new product launch forecasting and phase-in/phase-out planning.
- Serve as single point of contact to Operations for official demand forecast changes and material volume shifts
- Lead monthly demand review cycle within the S&OP process.
- Prepare baseline forecasts and scenario modeling for executive review.
- Highlight forecast risks, supply constraints and inventory implications.
- Ensure cross-functional alignment between Sales, Marketing aelend Supply Chain
- Analyze velocity trends across mass retail and e-commerce.
- Quantify promotional lift and cannibalization effects.
- Identify assortment and distribution-driven demand changes.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to improve service levels and reduce excess inventory.
- Standardization of the demand planning calendar, inputs and accountability.
- Establish forecast submission deadlines and review cadence.
- Build repeatable planning workflows that scale with company growth.
- Drive adoption of disciplined forecasting behavior across functions.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Finance, Analytics or related field.
- 3–7 years in demand planning, forecasting, supply chain analytics or commercial analytics.
- Experience operating a demand planning system (ketteQ, SAP IBP, Anaplan, Blue Yonder or similar).
- Strong data analysis skills (advanced Excel; experience with BI tools preferred).
- Experience working with POS data and retail customers.
- Consumer Product Goods or seasonal category experience.
- Experience supporting mass retail and/or e-commerce planning.
- Experience participating in or leading demand side of S&OP / IBP.
- Familiarity with statistical forecasting models and parameter tuning
- Systems Ownership Mindset – Treats planning software as a business asset, not just a tool.
- Commercial Judgment – Understands implications of forecast decisions on margin, service and working capital.
- Cross-Functional Influence – Can hold Sales and Marketing accountable to disciplined forecast inputs.
