Essential Duties:
- Preparing, cooking, and plating Bones BBQ menu items with speed, accuracy, and consistency.
- Maintaining a clean, sanitized, and well-organized station throughout the shift.
- Following all recipes, prep lists, portioning standards, and cooking procedures.
- Ensuring meat, sides, and sauces are properly prepared, held, and rotated (FIFO).
- Communicating with servers and expo to keep orders flowing smoothly and timed correctly.
- Monitoring food quality and presentation so every plate meets Bones’ standards.
- Assisting with opening, closing, and deep cleaning duties as assigned.
- Working with the team to keep the kitchen safe, efficient, and running like a well-oiled smoker.
- Taking ownership of your station and contributing to a smooth kitchen operation during all service periods.
Required Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow recipes and prep instructions.
- Excellent communication with kitchen teammates and front-of-house staff.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to stay level-headed under pressure.
- Consistent eagerness to listen, learn, take feedback, and continuously improve.
- Ability to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and scheduled training meetings.
- Ability to adapt to changes in menu, procedures, and kitchen flow.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Willingness to complete all required training and certifications.
Experience & Requirements:
- Previous kitchen experience preferred, but not required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- ServeSafe Food Handler or Manager certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license preferred.
- In-person job- must be located near the job site.
- Ability to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and some holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:
Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
Medium work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
