Overview
We are seeking a licensed and experienced Health Insurance Sales Representative who specializes in group benefits for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). This role is ideal for a proven producer with a strong track record of new business development, client retention, and consultative selling in the group benefits space.
The position offers a competitive base salary plus commissions, residual income and a retention bonus, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect, develop, and close new group benefits business with small and medium-sized employers
- Consult with business owners and decision-makers to assess needs and recommend tailored group benefit solutions
- Sell and manage group health, ancillary, and employee benefit products
- Present proposals, conduct enrollment meetings, and support implementation of new groups
- Maintain and grow an existing book of business through renewals, upselling, and cross-selling
- Provide ongoing service and support to clients to ensure high retention and satisfaction
- Stay current on carrier offerings, underwriting guidelines, and industry regulations
- Meet or exceed individual sales, revenue, and retention goals
- Travel regularly to client meetings, networking events, and industry functions within the assigned region
Required Qualifications
- Active health insurance license (state-specific as applicable)
- Proven track record of success selling group benefits to small and medium-sized companies
- Demonstrated ability to consistently meet or exceed sales targets
- Strong consultative sales, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Experience managing renewals and maintaining long-term client relationships
- Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with internal teams
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel

- Established relationships within the SMB market
- Experience with multiple carriers and benefit platforms
- Knowledge of compliance requirements related to group benefits
