Position Summary
The AC Technician / Facilities Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of all heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and assisting with general building maintenance across Bomnin Automotive Group facilities. This role helps ensure a safe, efficient, and comfortable working environment for associates and customers while maintaining Bomnin’s standards of excellence and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
1. HVAC Maintenance & Repair
- Inspect, maintain, and repair all air conditioning, ventilation, and heating systems for assigned dealership locations.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations on HVAC units and ensure optimal performance of all systems.
- Replace filters, belts, motors, fans, thermostats, and compressors as needed.
- Maintain detailed service records and report recurring issues or potential system failures.
2. Preventive Maintenance
- Implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime.
- Conduct routine inspections on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Monitor energy efficiency and recommend improvements to reduce operational costs.
3. Facilities Support
- Assist with general building maintenance including lighting, plumbing, basic electrical work, and other facility-related repairs.
- Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or installations.
- Support the Facilities Manager in responding to urgent repair requests or emergency maintenance issues.
4. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA standards and company safety procedures.
- Report any hazards, malfunctions, or safety concerns immediately to management.
5. Communication & Teamwork
- Communicate effectively with dealership managers and department heads regarding maintenance needs and repair timelines.
- Provide timely updates on work orders and project completion.
- Exhibit a professional attitude and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational certification in HVAC preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of HVAC repair and maintenance experience, preferably in a commercial or dealership environment.
- EPA Certification (Type I and II or Universal) required.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in various weather conditions as needed.
